The harmless old tramp might still be around, the loner that chose this lifestyle and some of them were quite some originals. But meanwhile, we have another breed of individuals meeting under the bridges and tunnels and the derelict warehouses of our neighborhood – homeless or not, they don’t want to be seen in the open as they are dealing in drugs.
All too often, we close our eyes at the goings on under the bridge, but for our children’s sake, let’s make our neighborhoods safe again. Even under the bridge. We used to play there safely, so why can’t our kids? Let’s open our eyes again, let’s get to know the local cop and cooperate with the police. Every street can have their own neighborhood watch and if you invite your local cop, he/she will only be too happy to advise. Is that not how it should be? The police your friend and neighbor?
